Sonji Muhammad-Perry

Sonji Muhammad Perry, MA, is a professional whose background spans grants administration, higher education, cultural engagement, and real estate. Her career has been shaped by a long-standing commitment to equity, education, and expanding opportunities for historically marginalized communities, values that deeply align with the mission of the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center.

With over a decade in higher education, serving as a director at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix and at Arizona State University in roles focused on community partnerships, student access, and the advancement of diverse populations, she brings a perspective rooted in advocacy and representation. These experiences inform her dedication to supporting organizations that preserve stories often overlooked and ensure they are shared with clarity, respect, and intention.

In her current position with the Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona, she works closely with sponsored projects in managing the full grant life cycle, from researching and identifying funding opportunities to reviewing proposals and ensuring compliance before and after awards.

She is a licensed Arizona real estate agent and a member of the National Association of REALTORS®. Ms. Muhammad Perry holds a Master of Arts from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University. Beyond her professional roles, she enjoys exploring locally owned restaurants, fostering cats through the Arizona Humane Society, traveling internationally with family, and participating in community focused programs.
